What this is...

Kortney Shane Williams, Semi-Finals of SICC-31
The 32nd Annual Seattle International Comedy Competition is coming up in November 2011.

Before this happens, this blog will give information about the selection process for this year's competition roster.  After the competition begins, this blog will follow the progress of the competition with nightly results and official photographs.

Might be a good idea to bookmark this for later (as there probably won't be much information on here until sometime this summer.)

  1. Peter,
I am looking so forward to work Denny Anderson's "Reality Check World Tour" Comedy Show into this years competition. Thanks for this blog as a window into the happenings of the competition. Can we expect any of the San Francisco stuff to trickle in?

  2. I doubt there'll be much information on the San Francisco Comedy Competition here, Denny.

This blog will be a source for information from me about the Seattle International Comedy Competition...and I'm not officially part of the production staff for the San Francisco Comedy Competition.

...but you never know, I guess.

  3. Well I'm gonna begin to get those ducks in a row.
I'll start a topic that'll be benificial to all comics who visit here, and not from the Emerald City. Obvoiusly branding your material in the local that you will be performing in will be an advantage to those of us who are from other locations around the world.
I plan in relocating to Seattle and working the open mics, and clubs in the area as I get closer to my "Reality Check" on my participation on this event. 6 Weeks is alot of time, and a place to live is critical.
I first performed at Swannies Underground while living in the homeless shelter just up the street. My very first open mic.
SO? ROOM MATES?! Collegues in art? I would like to be IN Seattle in June.
    Anyone? Anyone?
    Peter? Flop house accomodations? lol

  5. Denny, this isn't a message board.

This is just where information I have about the competition will be shared...when information becomes available. (Which, as I said in the reply to your inquiry regarding entry procedures for the competition, there probably won't be any for at least a month or two...and the official application period doesn't begin until June.)

As far as relocating to Seattle months before a competition that you will be one of hundreds hoping to be selected for...that's certainly ambitious, but I'm not in much of a position to help someone find lodging.

Good luck, though! (It's become rather pricey to live in the Emerald City, to be sure.)

That'a all good. How bout a link to a forum for the subjects that can be of issue? I'll even create the blog. I'm just thinking that it'll be a great resource for us hopefulls. A forum for participants.
So if I create the link can you list it here as a resource Peter?
